ABOUT THE PROJECT
Urban farming is not a new concept, it has existed in our society and economy for hundreds of years. The most common definition of urban agriculture comes from Cheemaa, which was adopted by the United National Development Program. She defines urban agriculture as an industry that produces, processes, and markets food, largely in response to daily consumer demand within a city, on land, and on water distributed in urban and peri-urban areas.
Vertical farming is a new urban farming system that emphasize on the idea of all year food production non-stop within control growing condition inside buildings in urban city. it was first proposed by despommier (2011) to have a new agriculture system.
Every citizen in Central Europe needs an average of 2,300 m² of cultivated area to provide himself with food for a year. This area could easily be reduced by a factor of 50.
This would reduce the development of new agricultural land and protect nature. Sustainable healthy eating has become an urgent must for humans. In addition, the technology is able to produce food more cheaply and more sustainably due to high purchase quantities and CO2-neutral production. In addition, the associated degree of freshness is obvious and is another sales argument. The technology intends to multiply sales by a factor of 2.5. In fact, even higher sales can be expected. Another advantage of technology is the drastic reduction in land consumption. On average around the world, there is ten square meters of agricultural land for every square meter of city to provide them with food.

Seehausen serves as the basis for a new, internationally recognized form of agricultural production. Therefore, this topic serves as the central idea of the project in Bahnhofstrasse. In addition, the planning serves to implement and present an innovative adventure Farm for all age groups.
The proximity to bus and train makes it easy for young and old to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Uckermark and escape the stress of everyday life with a few hours' travel time.
With its special environment, Seehausen/Uckermark provides every fan of nature and tranquility with beautiful and amazing corners. As a special station (centre of the Berlin-Usedom cycle path), the interesting stop offers many places that can be explored by bike.
The good connection to country roads and highways in the crossroads of the big cities and the Baltic Sea is another positive argument for laying the foundation for linking the elements "recreation and development". Nevertheless, it is important to us to keep the tradition alive.

A unique place with historical elements offers a new generation many facets that just have to be activated.
Currently, an overgrown but rustic landscape characterizes Bahnhofstraße 8 in Seehausen. The old station area with its entrance building records a large number of memories from the former GDR. Today the area offers an undiscovered charm.
